Prayer for July 5

Prayer for July 5: Please pray with me.  God of creation, today we ask that you sweep over the land and water and refresh creation.  We haven’t been good stewards of creation Lord.  Forgive us for our lust to get as much as we can out of the earth.  Help us to see that good stewardship means taking care of what is not ours and using it responsibly.  Amen.

Prayer for May 5

Prayer for May 5: Please pray with me.  God of creation, today we give you thanks for your creation and that we are blessed to enjoy it.  Help us to be good stewards of your creation – knowing that it is not ours, but rather we are caretakers of it.  Help us to see clearly your vision for creation in Revelation 21 – that you will return and abide with us here, not be swept off to somewhere else.  When you made creation you said it was good.  In Revelation you reveal that you will be returning to that good creation.  We wait in hopeful anticipation of your return to us.  Amen.

Prayer for March 14

Prayer for March 14: Please pray with me. God of creation, we are reminded yet again that we are not in control of your creation.  Rather we are stewards of it.  Yet, even as stewards, we don’t control it.  Creation is yours.  You call on us to care for it.  Help us do that.  We also ask that you protect all those who suffer from nature and its wrath in the form of blizzards.  Be with all those who must work in the midst of the storm – emergency personnel, electrical line workers, police, firefighters, those who treat and clear the roads, news organizations and so many more – we ask that you keep them safe.  Amen.

Prayer for February 24

Prayer for February 24: Please pray with me.  God of creation, today we pray for your creation.  Guide us in the way of being faithful stewards of your creation.  Remind us that all that is, is yours.  Even the things that we think we have earned and that we think we deserve – yup, they are yours too.  Make us good stewards of all that you give us, so that we can hand it on to the next generation of your stewards.  Amen.
