Prayer for July 2

Prayer for July 2: Please pray with me.  God of discernment, we are in need of discernment.  Give us direction Lord, we need it.  We need direction in how we speak and act – especially with others, especially with those we disagree with, especially with those we call our enemies, especially with those we fear.  Lord end the cycle of controversy and reaction that we are caught up in.  Set a new cycle – a cycle based on love, peace, mercy, joy, and forgiveness.  Give us discernment Lord.  Amen.

Prayer for April 24

Prayer for April 24: Please pray with me. God who gives direction, today we pray for all you are in a discernment process – trying to figure out what to do, what not to do, and what you are calling us to.  Being unsure and not the one in control can be scary God, yet you remind us again and again that we are not the ones in control.  And you remind us that regardless of scary it gets, you will continue to accompany us on our life journey.  Amen.

Prayer for September 16

Prayer for September 16: Please pray with me. God of the nations, today we ask for blessings for all nations.  We pray that you would give wisdom and discernment for all leaders of nations.  That they would work towards the promotion of peace, look out for the needs of those on the margins of society, and empower the people under their rule to live into their full potential.  We also pray that we would be persistent in praying for our elected officials in our own countries, regardless of how we feel about them.  Help us to see that when we pray for someone, we start to see them differently.  Amen.

Prayer for May 24

Prayer for May 24: Please pray with me. Holy God, today we pray for discernment.  Help us to see clearly – to see clearly where there is fear, anger, and anxiety.  To see clearly where there is faith, hope, love, and calmness.  Help us to discern those who are in the grip of fear and anger and those who hold tightly to it.  Breath your love into them and release them from these shackles.  Make us peacemakers in a word of division and strife, fear and anger.  Let us be your hands that offer a gentle touch to all who need it.  Amen.
